Watched it last night. I really didn't know anything about it going in other than Keanu Reeves action flick. And that was a good thing cause they wasn't any ordinary Keanu Reeves action flick this was a Keanu Reeves Revenge flick!
I read briefly about it on the films wiki page and spoke of it as homage to
That's actually a really good description. Though I don't really see too much Melville in it I do see the John Woo type action and it has Point Blank's use of camera and color and really in a lot of ways reminded me of its remake 1999's Payback with Mel Gibson.
Anyway John Wick definitely lived up to the hype.
