Stewart vs. Colbert heads up against one another always results in Colbert cracking up Stewart. Advantage = Colbert.

Actually Colbert was at the Daily Show for two years before Stewart became the host.

Both sides of the same coin.

Hate both, but I can tolerate Stewart a little bit more than Colbert.

Don't like 70% of people ages 18-25 watch Stewart weekly?

Stewart is very smart and can be a very capable interviewer, but I've always thought he was a dick. Colbert seems like a good sincere dude, and I like his schtick better.

Both are great and funny, but in terms of pure comedy Stewart by far. That is until I can see more of Colbert outside of his character.

I like Stewart, seems to call out the hypocrites and keep people honest. He's got a good staff and entertains. Been a little blah lately, correspondents aren't as solid as they used to be. Even though Jason Jones kills it in his segments.
I like Colberts character. He's funny, great delivery, but never kept me as a consistent viewer.

Bc he leans left... Like how that age group voted predominately voted for Obama. Most college kids lean left until they get into the real world.

Colbert's interview with Nas was my favorite by far.

Stewart (at first) was unbearable to watch, but over the years I actually really enjoyed his show and noticed his interviews were actually much better than Colbert's.
But I definitely prefer Colbert > Stewart. Both of them know their sh*t, that's for sure.

Stewart is not fair one bit. I am politically all over the place but Stewart is not fair in the slightest.

Stewart might be the best interviewer on TV. I mean, that's counting serious broadcasters. He actually has authors and buereaucrats who know what they're talking about on his show, which is more than most news networks. Of course he's liberal, but it's not like he's hiding it, and he doesn't play ridiculous gotcha games. He had Rick Santorum on and he let the man speak. Despite their obviously massive philosophic difference, he gave him a fair hearing without mockery or setting him up for a bit.
Not that he isn't above of unfair mockery, but his interviews tend to be great, unless it's some vapid celeb. Hell, his interviews of Denis Leary, which are almost always obvious fill ins when someone cancels, are great BS sessions of two funny guys riffing off each other.
But Stewart isn't as funny as Colbert. He's more of an incubator of talent (John Oliver is awesome as well), and he works best as the straight man to other people's wackiness. Colbert doesn't need another person to play off of.

Stewart is much more fair about who he criticizes. Where Colbert got me to quit watching because he goes way over the top ALL the time making fun of every last thing conservatives do.

Colbert.
Not even close.
Colbert is honest about his goals and his role.
Stewart wants to be taken seriously while hiding behind "we're not a real news program".
