When he pulls that dead limb off the tree before bashing Clooney and the other guy. That was some good stuff.

Thank you as well for the conversational hiatus. I generally refrain from speech during gustation. There are those who attempt both at the same time. I find it coarse and vulgar.
Great dialogue in that movie.

Somehow I've never seen this movie. I might give it a watch today.

It gets better everytime you watch it just like all Coehn Brother movies.

What? Watch it. Just listened to the dialogue. So well written.

Never watched it in its entirety... seen bits and pieces over the years. Thought the same thing, that today may be the day i watch it on netflix

It is one of my favorite movies. You could probably have a multi-page thread of just gifs, dialogue, and jokes from the movie without boring people who never saw the movie.

The image of him cracking that huge arse limb off the tree is exactly what I picture when I think of John Goodman's role. It was hilariously badass and ominous.

Isn't this place just a geographical oddity. Two weeks from everywhere.

I may be in the minority on this, but I don't think John Goodman was the best choice for this role. In every Coen Brothers role I've seen him in, I only see John Goodman playing dress-up. His presence on screen detracts from my movie going experience.
Possible substitutes? Maybe Michael Madsen or Matt Dillon.

He great in that role. But -- and I know this is likely to get me some mockery -- I absolutely cannot watch that frog squishing scene. I just look away every time.

I seem to be in the minority, but this is one of my least favorite Coen Brothers movies.

Those guys don't exactly fit the image of a mythological cyclops, whereas Goodman does. Good casting in my opinion, considering it is an adaptation of Homer's "Odyessy."

The best part was after he bashed Tim Blake Nelson Clooney just kept right on eating his chicken, "I don't get it Big Dan..."

Of course it's Pete! Look at him.
