I've been meaning to buy the graphic novel. From what I've read, if Netflix stays true to it, it should be a messed up, crazy ride.

I think it's out of print, but if you can find it, get it. It is my single favorite comic that Marvel has ever made (it's not my favorite ever -- Cerebus, Bone, and Watchmen have something to say about that). They will have to change a few things, and the villain breaks the fourth wall, which I hope they don't do on the show (it works in the comic, but it won't work in the TV universe they are setting up).

The best is when Thor asks her if she has to swear so much. I am curious how they are going to work out cross overs. In the comic, the Avengers play a small but an important role, and Carol Danvers, Spider-Woman, and Ant-Man all play critical roles. I'm positive they will write out Jessica Drew, which is a shame. It's a great bit.

I picked it up a few weeks ago. It was about $70 though, so be prepared. Before the reprint it was double that at least on Amazon though, so I'm glad the Netflix show is coming out so that they put it back into print.

I just started digging into it last night, coincidentally. I'm about 5 or 6 issues in and I had to force myself to put it down because it was getting late and I needed to go to sleep. There are a bunch of cool cameos, that I doubt the series will have. The storyline from the first six issues doesn't really fit the MCU unless they change some of the key elements, but it can be adapted pretty easily if they want to use it. I haven't gotten to any parts with Purple Man yet.

Suffice to say, I'm really liking it.

The second half is all Purple Man, and they relate it back to her origin story. But that storyline is post-Civil War (I think). It is definitely after Murdock gets outed as Daredevil (which I have no idea if they'll do in the MCU). I do think that's the way to tie them all together. Iron Fist picks up the DD mantle, Luke Cage does Luke Cage-y things, and Jones works as Murdock's bodyguard as he fights the accusation. It's all of the MCU TV characters, so it works well. Probably the way to go for DD Season 2.

The only thing you can't do is have the subplot of the Mutant Growth Hormone drug on the streets, as Marvel doesn't have the right to "mutant". They might still have MGH anyway and call it IGH for Inhuman Growth Hormone.

I've read a few pages of stuff with Rand as Daredevil that was included at the end of Immortal Iron Fist, is there more out there? I would really like to read that.

I didn't know much about DD before the series, but I picked up one of the Frank Miller books and really liked it. I've liked Iron Fist for a while and that whole run on Immortal Iron Fist was awesome. I even liked Matt Fraction's short lived Defenders series that brought back a lot of stuff from Immortal Iron Fist.

Bendis and then Brubaker's run on Daredevil is amazing. Fraction did well on Iron Fist, who I normally don't like as a character (well, I love the new Danny Rand, but the 1970s Iron Fist character is a bit of a cartoony racist trope)

The Danny Rand as DD stuff is a brief aside and not much of a major plot. Just another instance of him being awesome.

There's one part I'm basically 100% they change but if they don't Marvel has enormous fricking balls.

Are you talking about a certain activity between Cage and Jones?

I could see that, but I actually misremembered the resolution to the Scott Lang thing.

Though, um if they want to add that scene with Krysten Ritter, I'm down.
