not a troll. I love the cartoon justice leagues but it just comes off as cheesy as a live action.

If they can pull off Avengers, Star Wars, Guardians of the Galaxy, etc..

Justice League is no different.

Every subtitle has to have the word dawn or rising in it these days. They're just following the Hollywood trend.

what?

a large amount of the Marvel outfits have been heavily adapted to look more real b/c of the movies.

also, Superman's outfit and the ones that are similar are actually based off real life 1930's circus strong man outfits.

quote:

Circus strongmen of the 1930s wore "the familiar, faintly disturbing overpants-belt combo" as Morrison describes it. "Underpants on tights were signifiers of extra-masculine strength and endurance in 1938. The cape, showman-like boots, belt and skintight spandex were all derived from circus outfits and helped to emphasize the performative, even freak-show-esque, aspect of Superman's adventures. Lifting bridges, stopping trains with his bare hands, wrestling elephants: these were superstrongman feats that benefited from the carnival flair implied by skintight spandex. [Artist Joe] Shuster had dressed the first superhero as his culture's most prominent exemplar of the strongman ideal, unwittingly setting him up as the butt of ten thousand jokes." Traveling circuses and fairs once held a prominence that's hard to imagine now. They were emissaries of the unknown, the otherworldly, the freakish, the tantalizing, the magnificent, the imagined, the stuff of dreams. Superheroes came from these exact realms.

Even if the Superman outfit were based on something in real life.

I wouldn't want the lead of my 250 million dollar film looking like this.

I don't know why so many people are giving this horrible remarks already. Why not just let the movie play, see it or don't, then make your judgment. You can't make a real critique of the movie by just the casting and name. Honestly, the person playing Batman and the subtitle don't bother me one bit.

We're judging information as its released and forming theories on the possible quality of the final product.

My opinions:

Too many characters.

I like the Bat suit.

The title blows.

I'm not happy this isn't a MOS sequel.

Leery of the Luthor casting but it may work.

Wonder Woman shouldn't have the form of a Victoria Secret model.

What's wrong with talking about what we like and don't like so far?

Until we see how the character are used its hard to tell (e.g. I don't think Wonder Woman/Nightwing/etc. will have much screen time).

I really like it as well.

Agreed. Subtitles are meh.

Agreed. Supes deserves a solo sequel. Maybe thay will happen at some point.

So crazy it has to work, right?

Nothing. Just making a point that the product can't be judged yet.

Understood.

Ditto.

Blows is a strong word. Could be better, but doesn't blow.

My biggest problem with the whole thing.

Leery of the Luthor casting but it may work.

While I like Eisenburg, and I do think he can make a good young Luther, I think someone else could have been even better. I can't name that person, so I guess my opinion is invalid.

I agree. While Gadot is an extremely beautiful woman, if they don't bulk her up a good bit, it won't work on screen well. However, I DO NOT think Gina Carano would have cut it.

Good point. If Nightwing/Dick Grayson shows up, that will buy a lot of goodwill with me. This character is very underrated. DC never does him justice.

so Superman, who is wearing his alien fathers clothing (in this iteration), has an outfit that can't be taken seriously but this

is fine and dandy?

hell, do you know what Supes newer suit looks similar to?

But hey, its cool for Marvel. DC though? Looks too ridiculous to take seriously.

Too many characters for a World's Finest movie? Unless they're adding characters after they've begun filming, we have three heroes and one villain.

If it was a stand-alone single hero movie it might be too much, but for a team-up movie this seems about right.

I am not denying that silly costumes exist in the Marvel world.

But I am not really to excited to watch Batman and Superman eat up all the screen time while these jokers save the world.

And this is them looking serious.

If you were a fan of any of the individual Avengers and went to see the film, your character was on screen about as much as any other lead.

Between 25 and 37 minutes with the exception of Hawkeye.

I don't think we will be seeing any of the other Justice League characters featured in this film for nearly the same amount of time as the Superman or Batman understandably, but I don't think that is going to work when a full blown Justice League film drops, it can't be the Superman Batman show then.

This has The Amazing Spider-Man 2 written all over it.

This isn't a Justice League film. It's a Superman/Batman film. I don't think that you have to worry about Superman and Batman getting enough screen time. Wonder Woman isn't in the title. I don't think that anyone is going into this thinking that Wonder Woman will get 1/3rd of the screen time.

When they make a Justice League movie you can complain about "too much Batman".

Not at all.

Warner Bros has to get this thing off the ground somehow. Superman could barely carry his own franchise.
