Also, a marquee that looks like this

Manchester by the Sea
Hacksaw Ridge
Moonlight
The Interns
Oscar Movie #6
Oscar Movie #10
Oscar Movie D

Also looks really one note and boring. There's a place for all types of film. If you enjoy film, you should really be trying to enjoy everything from Logan to Moonlight to La La Land to Captain Fantastic.

If you just enjoy "film as art" you are as bad as as the person who just enjoys action films. Or comic book films. I would hate film if EVERY SINGLE FILM was some deep introspective look at the human condition. That gets boring too.

Baton Rouge has had its share of indie movie houses. Nobody showed up. They closed.

We also have the big film festival every Spring. No one on this board even mentions it.

Move to a big city. They have the populace to keep "70's" type movies around.

You bitch about comic book movies when there is only 1 in theaters right now? And that one wasn't even the conventional comic book movie.

We still have indie movies playing in theaters here every once in a while but they usually only play for a week. Its better than nothing.
