Why is this the major plot of this series? An easy target easily destroyed. You would think these writers would come up with better story lines.

Yeah, it's annoying. One of the things I hate about TFA is that they went that route again.

Rebellion 101: If you see the Empire building a large, spherical object in space, destroy it immediately.

You mean something that they had all the technical data for and the designer put in a weakness that nobody would know about was easy to destroy? No way.

After the prequals the new movie had to restore faith. This included paying homage to the original Trilogy as it teed it up for the future. I guarantee they will go in new directions now. When they do I think TFA will be even more appreciated as a bridge from old to new. Now, if they do another death star I will be the first to call it absolutely ridiculous.

No I wouldn't. It's Disney. It wouldn't be a retread if they hadn't done it yet again for TFA.

Well can anyone think of a bigger threat to the galaxy than a weapon that can instantly destroy a whole planet? It makes nuclear weapons look like bottle rockets.

Criminal politician believes it is her turn to rule the world, only to be thwarted by the hero at the last moment.

Apparently not.

You know you're not right for the job when Never Ending Story can think of a better threat to existence, 30 years ago, than you can in 2015.
