Is The Prince of Egypt one of the best bible story movies out there?

Sure it is an animated musical, but they do a good job of telling the story. It is a good movie with a good cast. As an animated film, it is very underrated.

Oh yeah...it also has a Hans Zimmer score.

It's really a tragedy that Disney didn't make this film, since I think it is largely forgotten by the general population, while it wouldn't be if it were a Disney classic. It is still in my mind the best telling of the Exodus out of Egypt that has been put to the big screen.

I think so, too. However, there are probably a bunch of Ten Commandment fans out there who would say otherwise.

I just really like the fact that emphasized the relationship of the brothers over everything else. In the Ten Commandments, you wouldn't know that they are adopted brothers unless you were directly told so. They don't act like how siblings would around each other. Exodus attempted to do this and failed.

Prince of Egypt doesn't linger on things we already know about the Exodus, and always tries to bring something new and creative to the table, like for instance how the Plagues only take up 3 minutes and they use a musical number to tell them. Thought that was really genius instead of taking up 30 minutes to an hour doing them.
