I've never seen it. I was told it was by someone who has never seen it as well.. but I tried looking up information and am getting conflicting reports.
Did some people overreact because of it being the first X rated movie?

No. No gayness about it. Jon Voight was a gigolo to older rich women. His outfit looked gay, but consider the time period.

There's no gay sex between Hoffman and Voigt. I don't think there are any scenes with men making out with each other. I think there is just an inference of gay sex. It's been a long time since I saw it so I could be wrong.

I don't see where he got that idea. Throughout the entire film, there is nothing which suggests that there was anything remotely sexual going on between the two.

Watching films usually helps form an opinion.

He did get a couple hummers from dudes in a movie theater I believe.

Any of you guys seen the movie?
He sets out to be a male prostitute but finds that he has to resort to taking Bob Baliban as a gay john.
If you're homophobic, you'll enjoy Voight's reaction.
The "gayness" takes up about four minutes of the entire movie.
It's worth the watch just for the Nilsson music.

Thank you Fewer Kilometers and every one else for the input.
I will probably actually check this out now.

Yes, very much so.

I just watched it a few nights ago. It had a few gay situations that Voight got himself into just because he needed to do something to get money. But the movie is mainly about how Voight and Hoffman become friends and help each other survive the best they can.
