Is it just me, or does 24 lose everybody

Especially after the first 6 hours the last 3 seasons? It seems like they've started out strong consistently, but then the stories doesn't catch traction and become quite boring. I miss season 1 and 2.
I can sense the boredom creeping into season 8 already.

I love the previous seasons. Even with some annoyances they were entertaining.
THis season... kinda think they ran out of steam.
Try watching The Simpsons. The show that invented 'jumped the shark' has 'jumped the shark.' Watched half an episode last week and ZERO laughs.

Sometimes i think the frantic pace of each episode results in too much crap being crammed into the show. And the problem is, if you miss 15 minutes, you can become lost.

Well this season is just like the rest
Step 1: Try to assassinate a highly ranked political figure
Step 2: The assassination was just a cover to get a WMD
Step 3: The WMD was just a cover to get an even larger WMD
Step 4: Capture the guys who were pulling the strings to get the large WMD
Step 5: Find out the guy they caught was part of a larger plot, but you need to tune in next season to find out how.

I do agree with u on how boring this season has become. But seasons 1-4 are some of the best television I've ever watched

I think the problem with this season is the new characters at CTU SUCK. In 24's early years there was Tony and Michelle and there was always a good story with whoever was the head of CTU at the time. I forget his name on the show but Xander Berkeley's character was excellent also. Then you had David Palmer a great character as well. I think everyone at CTU this season is so forgettable. That girl with the ex-bf is awful. The head black guy is awful. The creeper guy is awful. I am a huge 24 fan and even at it worst it has always been amazing. But I don't know anymore because there are absolutely no memorable characters anymore.

I thought season 3 was excellent. season 5 was alright but that's when it started to go downhill. I'm scared to say this put President Palmer might had made this show along with Jack

In a weird way I think Palmer and Jack's friendship was the subtle driver behind the show. I remember thinking it was cool that a "nobody" like Jack became best pals with the President. The respect they gained for each other as they went through the seasons was key in my mind. I also agree that the new CTU agents are awful, almost to the point they are a parody of themselves.
Bring Michelle back somehow and let her run things.
