I've heard this argument made a bunch of times, what's the evidence that Chuck is God and not just some kind of profit?

I mean they say he's a prophet and the books he's writing are the Book of Winchester.

I've never heard anyone say he was God.

ETA: Well shite, guess I was wrong. I'm also a season behind though, I wait until they come on Netflix.

Yes, I think the writers mentioned it before as a confirmation that he is indeed God. Also, one of the last episodes he is in, he is writing something pretty cryptic and not normal for his character about the Winchester boys' lives and he just suddenly disappears.

I have been hoping for an explanation for the lack of God in the story for a long time and I've been hoping they'd touch it.

So wait, when was it confirmed in the show he's god?
Or did the writers just tell us?

I suggest you change your thread title to

Is Chuck from "Supernatural" Just a Prophet?

and put a Spoilers for season 5 (when did Chuck first show up?) disclaimer. And I don't know what the interwebz consensus was, but from what I remember the show definitely implied he was.

Why? I literally spoiled nothing, unless you haven't gotten to Chuck yet (season 4?)

In which case you don't know what I'm talking about anyway

Exactly. If you haven't gotten to that point yet it's a spoiler.

Until someone does get to the point that Chuck shows up and then they start thinking "Is this the guy that TD thread was talking about? How can this loser be God?" But they wouldn't have thought that were it not for your thread title. I'm not trying to make a big deal out of it, just saying a few wording changes can still get you the thread you want without deflowering anybody. It's just a suggestion.

The writers came out and said he was going to be God or something of that sort. That was the plan when they intended on only doing 5 seasons. When it got popular and they wanted to make more they changed it up a bit.

In the last season he reappeared at the end of an episode or something I believe. I'm thinking in this next season he will be revealed as God

I don't see how they can make it work though bc apparently Deans necklace he used to wear would turn hot or red or something if it was near God which is why Castiel uses it during his search for God. If this is the case, he would have felt\noticed it when he was hanging out with chuck

Good point

I didn't watch this whole season, I'm actually going back and watching the first 5 right now, they're just so much better. Even though some of the episodes last season were solid, I may go watch the last 4-5 to catch up with the story.

Just so many filler episodes now

In the 200th episode, he appears to the writer of the musical based on his books.

He shows up and congratulates her, then offers her a job.

Short answer. Yes. He was meant to be. That's been confirmed.
