I just watched parts 1 and 2 last week and part 3 should be coming in the mail today. I was really suprised that The Departed was almost shot for shot of part 1. I don't know if I can say that I enjoyed Internal Affairs more than The Departed, but it was a damn good movie. Part 2 is a prequel and it is well worth a watch too.

It was good...but Scorsese turned it great. It's not better than The Departed.

I think the fate of the characters, the whole point of the film, was far more realized in Inferal Affairs. The Departed, while good, eschewed complicated characters (particularly Damon) for a more "shocking" resolution.

Completely agree Freuxzen. I like the departed but it kind of fell in love with itself. I love the score and the performance by Leo but overall IF did a better job.

Best part of the film, even better than over the top Nicholson.

YeS! Nicholsons performance was so over the top at times you expected him to turn and wink at the camera. I was distracting. Damon wasn't great either compared to the guy who played Lau in I.F. To me that was the key role in the film and the Lau knocked it out of the park

DiCaprio was the worst performance for me. Wahlberg did the best work, which isn't saying much.
