I love the Indy trilogy...and as much as I love the character and as much as I'd like to see him again I really do think this is one of those rare occasions where an actor essentially WAS the character so completely that it can't honestly be recast.

Harrison Ford wasn't playing Indiana Jones...the guy WAS Indiana Jones. What you'll get if they recast is either someone else doing their version of the guy (which is going to sting at the very least for those of us that grew up with Ford's Inday) or you'll get someone doing an impression of Ford's Indy, which may suck even worse.

I realize why Disney can't leave this golden egg rest, but frick...I really wish they would.

indy - relaunch, chris pratt (and anyone who watched guardians of the galaxy who wasn't thinking, hey this guy is like han solo or indy is oblivious)

There aren't enough >'s to express the difference between a relaunch with Pratt vs. a "continuation" with Shia as the Next Generation and old Harrison Ford cameos.

Indiana jones isn't really all that complicated. While Raiders is one of the best films ever made, part of that is the simplicity of it.

it's straight forward adventure, globe trotting expeditions, and lost treasure

and a hat and a whip

pratt could pull this off PERFERCTLY. Either let them die, or reboot...I vote reboot because I love Indiana jones. the one thing I'm unsure of is whether or not I like Indiana jones without steven Spielberg

just because of how little he is and how young he is, I don't know that shia lebouf (and he has talent, it hasn't been used well, but he has on screen charisma to be sure) can pull off indy

maybe with a few more inches of height and a bit more muscle, he could do it, but I wouldn't want mutt...I want Indiana jones

I like this. As much as I disliked the kingdom of the crystal skull, I can't get enough Indiana Jones

I didn't get that vibe. Maybe if Indy was gay or something.

Doesn't need to be remade or continued. They'll do it for the money, but the original can stand alone and isn't really harmed by the passage of time. And there's no way they could find a hotter Sorsha. She was perfection.

I don't. So long as they treat it with care and love. We haven't seen one lucasfilm property under Disney, but from what we've seen from star wars, and hearing that they want to reboot with chris pratt

Kathleen kennedy has my full confidence. they bought it for the billions they'll make, sure...but they also understand what they bought, and I'm not sure George lucas even realized for the past 25 years why star wars and indy connected with people.

damn, he's buff

is he tall enough though, maybe keep that 5 o clock shadow, but I think his connection to crystal skull and having already played a character in the series creates a disconnect with the audience.

I kind of would want to see a Willow sequel or a movie set in that universe.

Me too. That's what stuck out to me more than anything in the article.

The Last Crusade is nearly a perfect movie. There's just never a dull moment. At the end, you had Indy riding off into the sunset.

It really is, and is in my top 2 of movies (the other being the Hunt for Red October, which also has Sean Connery in it).

But you have nearly non-stop action/adventure. Multiple adventure plot points, one over arching theme, nazis, sallah, Sean Connery, early Christian Archeology, etc...

Any writer today would have a seizure trying to write something like that now.

Chris Pratt is bordering on being over-exposed with his being a part of so many franchises right now but damn, I can so easily see him playing Indy. He's just about perfect.

Really, the more you think about it, the more you realize the balance it struck between action, plot, comedy, and drama. You had great actors who had great chemistry and a great score.

I remember liking the Young Indiana Hones TV show. I wonder how it holds up? Something like that could be interesting.

When Indy chopped the rope bridge in half...how the hell did he survive slamming into the rock cliff?
