I'm An Idiot - More Action Movies

I really do enjoy movies with at least some substance, Colin Firth and Geoffrey Rush in The King's Speech, Ralph Fiennes in English Patient, Room, City of God, Marion Cotillard in La Vie en Rose, ... all stupid great movies. Raging Bull, Lawrence of Arabia, Glengary Glen Ross, On The Waterfront, Cuckoo's Nest are my 5 all time greatest...
BUT I am a dyed-in-the-wool closet homo for 2000 and newer action/ spy/ crime/ mob/ sniper/ hitman/ western/ war/ heist/ bounty hunter/ prison/ wilderness movies but I've seen pretty much everything that's on any "list"... I need recommendations for any really good ones I may have missed. Anyone have some possibly under the radar??

The Raid?
Look up anything with Tony Jaa in it too. He's like Jackie Chan and Jet Li rolled into one.

Nothing wrong with enjoying a ballet of bloodshed like John Wick or Kingsmen

Thanks, I'll check these out. Seen Ip Man, Raid, Kingsman, Wick, but not sure I've seen any Tony Jaa. I'll check it out too.

I just watched Kill Zone 2 after seeing Rotten Tomatoes gave it 100%. Pretty amazing production.

Who in the actual frick downvotes this? These are two of the most suprisingly fun action flicks I've seen in the last 20 years and they are pretty universally loved.
I'd put Edge of Tomorrow on there too. It's like Starship Troopers minus the cheese meets Groundhog Day.

EOT was exceptional IMO, John Wick, too.
I started Man From Uncle late one night tired and didn't finish. Henry Cavill is just lame to me. I'll give another shot. I find many martial arts movies just too cheesy. Anyone see Keanu Reaves in The Man of Tai Chi? Great fricken show. The Way Of The Gun is another sleeper that I think hangs with some of the best of all action flicks.

I love martial arts and netflix has a bunch of them. Man of Tai Chi was ok, not great. If you think they're cheesy, you're probably watching the wrong ones. Scott Adkins and Michael Jai White could have been big action stars in the late 80s-early 90s, today they are straight to dvd but are both decent enough actors and great martial artists. Tony Jaa, Iko Uwais, and Donny Yen are the best Asian martial arts actors right now.

Which Tony Jaa movie is best, "Ong Bak" or "The Protector".

Ong Bak by far. Protector 1/2 and Ong Bak 3 are kind of boring outside of the fight scenes. Of course the fight scenes are still awesome.
