WOW. It was fantastic! A wonderful ensemble cast. Lots of plotlines going on at once. Gritty, realistic, and funny as hell at times. Thanks MTV board for the heads up on this show.

If you're asking yourself, "what the hell do I watch now?" The answer is: rewatch The Wire.

I just recently binge watched for the first time.

I actually liked the "union/docks" season

My favorite character is Lester and McNulty

Slim and Chris seemed very real to me and scared the frick out of me.

I wanted to kill Snoop in real life.

couldn't stand the season with all the kids in it

Omar should of went out in a better way then they did it

I actually liked all the seasons. Favorite characters. Omar of course. McNulty most of the time. Lester. Carver turned into good police. He and Heck were funny together. Prez found his niche. Bunk Moreland was too funny. Proposition Joe. Slim, bode. Just too many to name really. Yeah and where do I go next . Can anything keep up with The Wire?

First and last seasons.

Gotta love the McNulty trainwreck. Also liked the lawyer that got hotter each season until she started banging ET.

Whenever I end up watching some shitty show or episode, I immediately start re-watching The Wire or The West Wing to get that terrible taste out of my mouth and restore my faith in humanity.

Favorite character was Bunk. He was funny as hell, but he was also the most "natural po-lice" in my mind out of anybody on the show. He was a damn good murder detective, but also didn't upset the system for selfish reasons like McNulty. Bunk did his job, and did it well without all the drama, but also had a damn good time in his life outside of work.

Rewatching the early seasons now you actually do see how McNulty is kinda an a-hole the whole time, though when I originally watched the first season I felt like he was doing the right thing.

My favorite season by far was 4 (the one w ithe kids). But all of the seasons were great.

This ties in with another Wire thread I was thinking about making but I'll ask it here.

Who was the best straight police officer on the show? Not favorite character but best police, I'm thinking Greggs or Bunk

Avon knew his station. Stringer's reach always far exceeded his grasp.
