These little 25 minute episodes are so tempting the cliffhangers are all sick too. I'm not a big anime guy but this one's pretty cool

Only complaint is the Titans themselves. They look so stupid. Surely they could've come up with something better than naked, smiling humans. They should've made them all look like the colossal Titan with no skin.

A tv show is only as good as its supporting characters, and this show has a ton of good ones. Mikasa is a fricking badass. It still has a lot of the annoying Japanese tropes (gratuitously demonstrative monologues and flashbacks), but it's still damn good

Anime is like cocaine for me. Once I start watching, I come too and it's 5 days later. They are almost always bite sized, and a quarter of the show is recapping the previous episode.

It's also fun to watch the older series and look at the battles between American and Japanese fans over the endings. The Japanese fans always want their characters to die for the greater good or give their life up, and the Americans never want them to die.

Watch Psycho Pass next. It's awesome.

And as for the Titans' design, imagine it from the standpoint of the characters. How terrifying would it be to see a large, naked, smiling man who wants to eat you running at you?

That would scare the piss out of anyone.

I just googled it. Apparently there still are not any concrete plans for a second season.

this is so frustrating. it was/is one of the biggest animes in japan. they even did a live action movie of the first season. why are they not capitalizing on this? the first season did not have resolution at all and clearly was intended for more. its been years now.

Apparently the manga hasn't been written far enough ahead is what the article I just read claimed. They want to be 4 arcs ahead before proceeding with the anime to avoid the use of filler and to keep the two as similar as possible. They are only 2 arcs ahead. It makes sense from a quality perspective. I don't read mangas, so I don't know what kind of wait and process is typical. Maybe the guy has writer's block.

But yeah they are leaving us hanging pretty bad right now. It's like writing an incredibly intriguing prologue, and then cutting it off before any answers or actual meat of story is given.

Couldn't get into this show. Most of the titans look retarded, literally like they have Downs Syndrome. Netflix only had this is Japanese. I watch foreign movies in the original language but I prefer cartoons in English.

Fun fact, the Colossal Titan was based on the wrestler Brock Lesnar

No, that would be Berserk. Except the author is not 60+ and obese

People say that, and there's really only one quote from Miyazaki that hints that, but he didn't explicitly say it's influenced by it. There are some striking similarities though.

The manga is the way to go. The anime are okay, but they aren't shite compared to the original medium

From what I understand all the anime that's been made is incomplete and generally not getting finished. Maybe eventually I'll get around to the manga. Graphic novels and the like aren't really my thing, but I'm intrigued by the story. You have to prepare yourself for some pretty fricked up and depressing shite though. I picked up that much at least from the anime movies.

There's a new anime this summer that will go through an arc or two that hasn't been done before. It looks like shite though from what I've seen. They never seem to get a good production company to do the manga justice.

And yeah, Berserk and Akira are really the only manga that I've read. I watched the original anime series from 1997 about ten years ago after seeing it high on a bunch of top anime lists and had to know what happened next.

The SO has an attack on titan shirt, forgot it was even on Netflix. She says it's a good show but I've been too stubborn.

I was a fan of vampire hunter d, ninja scroll and fist of the north star. So I was thinking I'll check it out when she's not around.

That's me. Not a huge fan of most new anime I've seen, but AOT was pretty good.
