How does Wolf Hall stack up against The Tudors?

I enjoyed The Tudors a lot even though I thought it was kinda overacted sometimes.
I watched the first episode and a half of Wolf Hall and it seems to take itself a bit more seriously. The lighting is darker and they seem to be setting Cromwell up as the protagonist, which is kinda weird.
It hasn't really hooked me yet. What are this board's opinions on Wolf Hall? Is it worth the investment? How would those who have seen both compare the two series?
