Not that it matters.

But, did you view him differently after hearing the news?

Don't even care. If I didn't detect it in the first place, why is it an issue now? Not like he was having Harry sneak out his dorm room to sleep in his bed.

not really - i did have a hefty eyeroll over her shoe horning this in after the fact following that by saying Hermione is actually black.

I mean i don't care and it wouldn't have affected my initial reading of the books at all but coming in after the fact (years later) and adding what are fairly significant details about the characters just seems like she wanted to be as politically correct and "inclusive" as possible.

bottom line - i don't care that he's gay but i don't exactly buy it that she considered the character to be gay when she was originally writing the books. I think she came up with that later as a way to keep Harry Potter as a trending news item after the series had ended, same with the Hermione is actually black thing.

Just like when Penguin turned out to be gay in Gotham - i get a little tired of them shoe horning in these gay sub plots. I think even the Flash (my favorite show) is supposed to have a character come out as gay this year....why? It just feels forced.

Even though I didn't read the books as a kid, I still just assumed the characters were asexual unless Rowling specifically brought up a relationship. We are viewing this from the students' point of view. When I was in school, I never really wondered about my teacher's sexuality. It wasn't important to my life, and it's not important to these stories.

what's more is that Dumbledore romantically loved Grindlewald, the second most powerful dark arts wizard of all time (second only to Voldemort). Dumbledore defeated Grindlewald in 1945 in an epic duel.

Was it because Grindlewald spurned Dumbledore's gay advances which made Dumbledore act out?

Rowling is really stupid, let's come out after all the books were written and start dropping all this info.

Whatever?

Fantastic Beasts looks bad, I don't see how that cast can carry this show.

for me not one bit - did nothing to hurt the story or help it - was just kind of "whatever".

It wasn't new that really had no purpose coming out. It neither added nor detracted from the character. I was more curious why Rowling thought it was necessary for anyone to know. You didn't right him to be obviously gay. It didn't matter one way or the other if he was, so why should we care?
