Home Improvement vs Last Man Standing

I grew up loving Home Improvement but I now think Last Man Standing was a better show.
My reasons for thinking that are that Jill was such an awful character on Home Improvement and the daughters on Last Man Standing are more entertaining than the sons on Home Improvement.
I mean Jill really sucked. Such a snowflake, emo therapist. (Her cameo on last man standing was great though.)

Nothing on LMS is as good as Wilson or Al.
Tim is the only good think on LMS. They replace a fairly good looking actress with a beastly woman. HI far better in my opinion. Only good thing about LMS is the political humor.

The recasting of the oldest daughter was an abortion. The first season of last man standing is by far the best.

Really liked both shows. Grew up with HI but understood LMS as an adult.

I loved Home Improvement when I was younger, but trying to rewatch as an adult was an exercise in futility. I love LMS. I think the recasting of Kristen and her baby daddy was awful, and I now have a reason to want to punch all three Masterson boys in the throat for annoying characters they portray.
Aside from the right of center humor on LMS, I love that it's one of the only sitcoms where the dad isn't a bumbling idiot. Vanessa is the one who makes the awful "dad jokes" and she's the one who's awkward around black folks, etc.
I love how Mandy (the middle daughter) is adorably clueless, and Mike and Eve's relationship is great, too. I really think ABC fricked up by dropping this show. We didn't start watching it till syndication and it's sad they're moving from Netflix to Hulu. Thankfully there's one more season for us to watch.

Both are really good family shows. Loved Home Improvement and I binged Last Man Standing last month. Tim Allen has a good sense of humor and does comedy well.

Tried watching an episode of Last Man Standing because everyone was going crazy that it was getting cancelled. Holy shite, that show sucks.

Home improvement is significantly better. It's a different show really, despite them trying to recreate it with LMS.
Wilson specifically is somewhat iconic. His character is really unique in the show and all other TV. The constant play on not being able to see his face (and in such a natural way with a short guy not being able to see over a tall fence), and his character being built up so well by the talks with Tim. I'm glad they didn't try to directly recreate his character

I just binged LMS on Netflix, so the whole series is pretty fresh to me.
I agree that HI was the better show, but LMS is very good in its own way.
If they hadn't recast Kristen and re-tooled her character to be a foil to Mike Baxter, I think the show would have surpassed Home Improvement.
I read that the recast was done because they got a new show runner for season 2, and he didn't jive with the original Kristen. While he got four more seasons out of it, that new show runner did the single worst thing that ever happened to the show.

I read the recast Kristen because she looked too young to have a kid that old. She was supposed to be 26 and OG Kristen looked younger than Mandy

I also grew watching HI, but as an adult, I enjoy LMS more because of all the anti lib tard humor. As I woman, watching HI now, Jill even gets under my skin. I much prefer Vanessa. Hate the new Kristin, but I've always enjoyed the dingy sister.

I prefer HI. LMS was enjoyable, but tried too hard to be political at times. Both are solid shows.
