Hollywood legends in terrible/forgotten movies

I always like watching old movies that show up late night on the UHF-style channels. It's funny when a legit Hollywood legend shows up in these.
John Huston, Shelley Winters, and Henry Fonda in....Tentacles!
Another one is Bette Davis in 1976's "Burnt Offerings," the story of an old house that magically repairs itself by killing anyone who stays there.
Burgess Meredith was also in that, but he was in everything.
Any good ones y'all can think of?

the last few years of Al Pacino and Robert Deniro's careers would qualify

Can you blow that picture up a bit? I can't see it.

Add in Bruxe Willis and a few others. And they're hunting for paychecks which is a little different.

ha ha, the chauffeur is pretty cool.
Do you get the "Comet" channel? I've been borderline obsessed with it since finding it on my channel lineup.
I always wonder what thought process was behind these decisions. Deniro and Pacino I'm pretty sure will just take anything that pays. But when you see the casts for something like The Swarm or Tentacles, I wonder if they were really convinced that it was the next big thing that would secure their legacies with the younger generation. Or if they just needed money for the hospital bills and putting their kids through rehab.

quote:Cut the cord recently and picked up a leaf antennae. I did notice one of the interesting channels was Comet. Sort of like the Sci-Fi channel when it first started.

Disaster films were huge in the 70s. It was the next big thing back then. Everyone wanted a Jaws hit.
Tentacles was a Jaws ripoff.
People were freaking about killer bees so there were a pile of bee movies including the one that ends in the Super Dome.
Towering Inferno also had a massive cast. Most of the Airplane flicks had great casts.

Only movie I've ever walked out of. And that was in high school when the price of a ticket meant a lot.
