I'm sure your dad was an incredible man, but those boys didn't need saving, so they say.

The terrain of the Pacific and the dug in Japanese on their own soil made that theater a tougher and more bloody battle.

At least the Germans were on foreign soil in the Band of Brothers and it was more about taking supply routes away and securing bridges.

The Japanese weren't on their own territory but being on an island means you have nowhere to retreat to. That makes the resistance much tougher.

That's why I carefully avoided using the word "saved" when I described them as being relieved. As in, "your replacements are here to relieve you."

Of course, my dad told me the encircled soldiers in Bastogne were very happy to see their relief, especially the Sherman tanks.

Can't believe you haven't seen it til now.

When people ask me what my favorite movie or TV show is, I respond with "Band of Brothers".

Amazing cinematography, acting, directing, etc...

You almost feel like you are part of the company. You get an adrenaline rush when the battles break out, you get upset when shite goes down, and I even got teary eyed when people died.

I've binged the series probably 10+ times. It's great everytime I watch it.
