HBO Max is about to get nuked and folded into Discovery Plus

That's the rumor anyway.
They are also rumored to be having the scripted division of the platform axed and replaced with a division that focuses exclusively on unscripted content. We will probably get the official word tomorrow after the quarterly report is released. Batgirl was just the beginning. WB is about to get a MASSIVE overhaul.

Wonder how this will affect the price? If it's much of an increase I'll probably drop it, I like HBO Max but Discovery doesn't have much that would interest me, certainly not enough to pay a significant increase.

HBO is the bigger, stronger brand, I would expect Discovery to be folded into HBOMax.

For real. HBOMax is probably the best pay streamer out there. (I have a soft spot for the free ones like Pluto and Tubi. But as far as premium content, Max is the best.)
The Warner Bros. library of films is my favorite.

HBO Max is the best service out there. Not the biggest catalog, but overall the best quality. They also have double the subscribers that Discovery has. I'm sure it'll be the other way around.

Merging the platforms makes technical sense but there is a huge cultural difference between people who watch D+ and HBOMax
I use my Cox credentials to stream Food Network stuff and constantly see ads for D+... It's literally all trashy "reality" TV shite that I have ZERO interest in watching
