Has a movie critic ever made you think of a movie differently?

Roger Ebert did for me with his review of Shane.

LINK

Gave the movie more depth than it previously had for me.

Pauline Kael - all the presidents men. She pointed out the biases and hypocrisy of the Hollywood left. Redford was the waspy all American investigator, whereas Hoffman was portrayed as a shifty Jew who connived his way through the investigation, lying to people to get into their homes, etc. I never would have thought of that.

She was a bitter old hag but she could raise some great points

I don't agree with her very often, but I find Stephanie Zacharek to be an astute viewer of film. I always enjoy her reviews, and she has a completely different perspective on film than I do.
