Ok Hardhomme sticks out into the Bay of Seals. In order for Jon to sail there he would to leave from Eastwatch by the sea. Why in the next episode does it show him approaching the castle black tunnel?
How is that even possible? Why would he not sail back to Eastwatch and drop off the free folk?

Logically, they would, but the show obviously wants to preserve a certain scene the way it is in the book.

In the book, I believe you can travel along the wall fairly easily on either side. If you recall, Stannis's army did just this. However, since this battle never happened in the book, I don't know. The battle on the book pretty much had Cottar Pyke and his sailing vessels being destroyed by "dead things in the water", so D &D will have to explain this one.
