Finally getting around to this one.

Yikes! How the F did this make it to network TV?

Have the ramped up violence since I stopped watching most of the networks? I really am shocked that the network sensors didn't shite can this show after the pilot.

Mads is a beast. Wasn't sure I was going to like him as Hannibal but I do.

9 episodes in and still not sold on Hugh. I do like the way they have him break down the crime scenes. This would have worked great for Frank Black on Millennium.

The supporting troops suck. Seems like Scott Thompson is supposed to bring the funny like Vince Masuka from Dexter, but it has been pretty lame.

Just like Spader carries The Blacklist, Mads has carried this show.

Question. How are season 2 and 3? Does the quality stay the same, decrease or ramp up? Either way, I will watch til the end.

A bit disturbed by all of the awesome food. Damn show makes me hungry, then I realize he is eating / serving up his victims.

The show gets better every season. It's an art show. It's just beautiful.

I too am surprised it lasted as long as it did with the amount of gore. Add the poor ratings and NBC did Hannibal fans a solid by keeping the show on for three seasons.

Just finished binge watching it. I agree on Season 3 going off the rails. The first two seasons were an interesting take on the story. Trying to incorporate that into plots from the movies/books wasn't always a smooth fit. It also didn't help that Season 3 is essentially two mini-seasons, which made the plots feel rushed at times.

I agree, it seems to get more abstract and mysterious. I thought season 3 was great, especially considering it was cancelled 2 weeks after it aired. I think the series is better and more haunting than any of the films. Still can't believe it was on major network television. I can't think of a better, more formidable antagonist in cable television history than Mads Mikkelsen as Hannibal.

Agree with the others on S3 sucking, but seasons 1 and 2 are some of the best TV I've ever seen. Never thought I would say that about an NBC show

I hated the way NBC handled that show. They'd do big f'ing "Watch America's Got Talent" layovers that would cover like 1/3 of the screen during the show. And they'd break in with bullshite promos for other shows during it. It was clear they didn't care about it and it made me hate watching it. I wish they'd put it on Netflix now so I could watch it without all that crap.

Yeah I'm not paying for Prime. I order less than 3 things a year from Amazon and I already feel like I have to many monthly "bills" and I'm not looking to add another. I pay for Netflix and Cable, I don't need another. If I can ever get live sports without cable maybe I'd dump it and pick up Prime and Hulu.

It did work great for Ally Walker on Profiler.

I'm into season 2.

Once again, HOW...HOW...HOW...How did this show make it past the network censors?

I'm perplexed.

Not sure some of the scenes would make it into a PG-13 movie. I'm thinking the movie ratings folks would hit this one with an R.

This is definitely not a dinner time show.

Censorship? Pay close attention in the final season when they show the Botticelli painting, a classic work of art. I think their public prudishness about sex and adoration of violence and gore betrays their secret that they dress up like the gimp in their home sex dungeons, where partners thrash them within inches of their lives.
