Surprised I haven't seen the Star Wars Episode I trailer mentioned. It absolutely kicked the hype train into stratospheric levels. It made people camp out a month in advance to get into the first screenings. Too bad the actual movie didn't live up to all the hype.
I remember you had to watch all movie trailers on quicktime. That download of that trailer was like either 18 or 21 mbs and took forever over dial up interent.

To this day, my favorite was the first trailer That came out for the Lord of the Rings. It was a trailer for all three of it and shows you exactly how badass and unlike anything you have ever seen before.. when the music started and the "One Ring to rule them all" came on in theaters, I legit got goosebumps.

Here's another one, and it was not at all in the final movie which was a total fricking disaster: The Last Airbender teaser
