I can remember randomly flipping through the cable movie channels about 15 years ago and randomly finding the boondock saints. Had no idea what it was or about, but 12 year old me thought it was awesome. Same way I found commando and big trouble in little China. Something about never having heard of these wonderful films and just finding them in the wild made them so much better.

A lonely place to die

(or maybe I just like Melissa George)

But seriously, no clue. Maybe Netflix knew I liked Melissa George with their recommendations back then. Netflix stalked you.

Great movie that is tense as hell. The last 20 minutes are pure insanity

The Ghost and the Darkness (with Michael Douglas & Val Kilmer).

Went to the $1 Show in the mid-90s, just wanting to see a movie, knew nothing about it, picked it based on the title alone, initially thinking it might be a horror flick. Man, I was entertained. Turned out to be a great movie and one of the best values for a movie that I ever paid for. Felt like a steal.

I've found some good movies aimlessly flipping through Netflix. To name some: El Gringo, Dragged Across Concrete, Shot Caller, The Debt Collector.

Punch Drunk Love.

I went to the movies one afternoon on my day off by myself. For some odd reason, the movie I wanted to see was cancelled due to technical difficulty, so I just asked the lady what’s the next movie that’s starting soon.

I had no info on this movie. It had just been released with very little advertising. When I first saw Adam Sandler on the screen, I thought it was going to be a comedy. Nope!

Halfway through I thought, this movie is awesome!

Honestly… accidentally… the Big Lebowski.

We got the Sundance channel on cable in LSU dorms back in like 2000.

While randomly flipping through the channels, I saw John Goodman beating the shite out of that guy’s new red car. Few days later, I’m flipping through the channels and that same exact scene was on. I watched it till the end and was confused AF.

Movie played almost daily on Sundance. I watched it in its entirety afterward. Loved it.

Shot Caller.

Nikolaj Coster-Waldau plays a man who goes to prison based off of an accident, and ultimately has his life transformed as a convict. It's a great flick, and one I've recommended multiple times.

Dragged Across Concrete is another one. Craig S Zahler movie that has Mel Gibson and Vince Vaughn as crooked cops. Well worth 2 hours.

"Butter". Great cast (Jennifer Garner, Ty Burrell, Hugh Jackman, Alicia Silverstone, Ashley Greene, Olivia Wilde, Rob Cordry) had no idea I would enjoy a movie about sculpting butter but it was pretty damn funny

Back in the 90's when you had to check a newspaper or call for movie times, we went to a movie to see whatever blockbuster was there. Of course it was sold out so we asked what else starts at this time. Some movie call Shawshank Redemption was playing and that is what we saw.

Steve McQueen and Dustin Hoffman

I remember coming across it one night on TCM and stayed up super late to finish it. I was probably 12 at the time and absolutely loved it.
