D&D would never listen to dumb asses like him. Westeros is based off of medieval Europe (mostly England) so off course people there are going to be white.

The White Wolf needs to go ahead and divide up the Karstark, Umber, and Bolton lands between the Mormonts, the Wildlings, the Hornwoods, and Davos (if he would prefer to stay up north over staying in the Stormlands).

I would offer Davos the dreadfort, let him turn that hellhole into a place of good. Encourage him to install a harbor town at the mouth of Last River to serve his seafaring needs.
The Wildlings can take Last Hearth and it's surrounding lands, Hornwood can have, well, Hornwood back.

I was kind of thinking about spreading the Mormont lordship out to the Northern Mountains, from the western part of the Gift down to the border with the Glovers land (I guess the Glovers can keep their land since Jon forgave them, and Lord Glover bent the knee). Give the Wildlings the eastern part of the gift and the Umber's land (with Tormound getting Last Hearth). I was leaning more towards giving Davos Karhold and the Karstark's land since it has access to both the Bay of Seals and the Shivering Sea. Then maybe dividing the Bolton's land up between the Hornwoods (since they were the bulk of Jon's army outside of the Wildlings), Davos and the Starks. I don't know who they'd put in the Dreadfort itself. Maybe another Stark, or maybe even Sam if he doesn't become a full blown Maester.

That's an interesting article. Funny he calls out Doctor Who, which has gone out of its way to create more black characters.

The vassels wouldn't know what to do with themselves. They'd either be go grateful and loyal to Sam because he would treat them so well, or they'd not respect him at all and try to rebel against him because they would view him as so weak compared to the Boltons.

Speaking of giving the Karstark's lands to someone, The Magnar has to get a seat somewhere, right? I would think Karhold would become the new seat of House Thenn.

Seeing as how the Magnar of the Thenn is dead on the show, I don't see how he can take the seat at Karhold outside of them sprinkling his ashes around the place.
I try and keep the show and books separate. I'm still hoping beyond measure that GRRM doesn't crap all over the Umbers, the Manderlys and the rest of the North like D&D did, and that the North doesn't abandon the Starks like they did on the show. As much as I love to hear Lady Mormont shout "The North remembers", it's actually a bullcrap lie since the only ones that remembered were the Mormonts, the Hornwoods and some other house that I think they made up.

This is a show thread, you're in the right. My mind runs about 85% book and 15% show no matter where I am at or what I am doing. I can be watching an episode and all of a sudden think "wtf, he's not dead!" only to remember that yea, this isn't the books...

Maybe you should stop comparing the show to what you imagine the books will do, because you completely missed the point and impact of that speech.

I said I loved hearing her say it, and trust me when I say I didn't miss the impact of her speech. Watching her shame the other major houses, and at the same time reminding them of why they had to rally behind Jon was awesome.
But with that said, when she says "House Mormont remembers" I'm like "hell yeah they do. But when she follows it up with "the North Remembers", I'm like "yeah about that, you and two other houses don't constitute the North". But I get it. She was trying to rally the other houses by reminding them (and shaming them) that they are Northerners and should remember that their allegiance is with House Stark.

yeah, I thought that was what made it great. Little girl shaming the big tough knights by speaking for "The North," and forcing them to decide if they're really Northern men.

Maester or not, he's in the Night's Watch and can't have the Dreadfort.

Yeah those comments were dumb. Yeah the MAIN cast is pretty white, but if you think about it there are like what; 7,8 "stars" in the whole series? Everyone else is either playing a secondary or tertiary role.

While I get where you're coming from and you defineltly raised some valid points I feel like JJ and the writers did a good job with Finn. I didn't really notice any stereotypes and I wouldn't say he was the comic relief, and I do feel as if he was the playing second fiddle behind Rey.
