Yep... And Varys seems more willing to get his hands dirty. I think Varys will survive while Littlefinger may get the Moon Door.

convinced lysa to poison jon arryn
convinced joffrey to off ned
purposefully indebted the crown to the iron bank
orchestrated assassination of joffrey

lord of vale, lord of harrenhal, and lord of the riverlands

Yeah, it's really pointless to compare the two until the whole story plays out.

sure, i just prefer LF's character, i guess. i like show varys a lot more as well (grrm even said that out of the entire list of characters, TV Varys is better than how he imagined his own Varys)

LF probably wont make it, but i think he'll destabilize and destroy the current political system on his way out

Let's not forget that he became mayor of Baltimore as a white man. No easy feat.

Hugo, the more I think about it, the more I love the Varys warg theory. Idk it that's an original idea by you, but it kicks arse

Speaking of that, is Carcetti the only guy from the Wire to go on to a BETTER role?

It occurred to me in the epilogue of ADWD. I'm sure I'm not the first person in the world to suggest the theory.

which thread

I'll just copy it here.

GRRM on who killed Joffrey

quote:

He told Rolling Stone: “In the books — and I make no promises, because I have two more books to write, and I may have more surprises to reveal — the conclusion that the careful reader draws is that Joffrey was killed by the Queen of Thorns, using poison from Sansa’s hair net, so that if anyone actually did think it was poison, then Sansa would be blamed for it. Sansa had certainly good reason for it.”

LINK

When is he going to write the books? For the publisher I am sure they want them released well before the show is ever aired about them and if so will there be a break in the show until after the books come out and he writes the screenplay?

Idris Elba has done quite well. The characters Freamon and Bunk also had leading roles on Treme. The loudmouth Sobotka kid had a leading role in Generation Kill.

I'm amazed the Hodor thread is still delivering in the "Who done it?" debate.

he is lord paramount of the trident

quote:

The head of House Baelish, Petyr "Littlefinger" Baelish, named Lord of Harrenhal and ruler of the Riverlands. Baelish remained an absentee ruler as he left King's Landing for the Vale. Baelish's appointment snubbed House Frey, who had expected to be rewarded with rule of the Riverlands for betraying Robb Stark at the Red Wedding.

quote:

After the battle, Petyr is rewarded with the title Lord Paramount of the Trident and the Lordship of Harrenhal, despite the fact that it is still under control of King Robb Stark, and being held by Lord Roose Bolton. Though Littlefinger never sets foot in the castle, the title gives him nominal control over the war-torn Riverlands and makes him a High Lord.
