Bear island is west of the Erye right?

A remote island with strong stark support seems like a reasonable place to hide Sansa, although I'm not sure how it would advance Little Fingers position, which he's always aiming to do

I'm curious who LF wants on the throne.

I would assume himself. Chaos is a ladder after all.

I don't think he cares. He thrives on chaos.

He uses chaos as a means to an end. He's always 5 steps ahead. He knows.

going back to jon snow, i do wonder about the end game (i'm not a reader) and if it is in some way is a battle with the others & if the possibility of defeating them (wiping them out) becomes a thing it might eliminate the need for the NW or even the wall.

it's a logical arc for in some way to have the northerners, the NW, and the wildlings band together to defeat them.

it's at that point jon could become a stark and rule at winterfell. of course, there's the whole theory of his parentage that comes into play too so who knows.

This is why the Starks are on the brink of extinction right now. Still frustrating
It's also the reason the Starks are the only family that has been around for 8 thousand years. Their honor might get them killed when it is applied too staunchly, but it also inspires intense loyalty from their vassals who know they will always get a fair shake with the Starks.

And currently, there are 5 living Starks, any one of whom could continue their legacy. That's far from extinction.

Yeah what that Lannisters did to the Targs, literally no house would have done that to the Starks.

Were they Bannerman to the Starks though? Or just fought along side them once? I know before GoT the Starks and Boltons fought a lot.

I agree to some extent but I think it's more analogous to a chess match in which the winner is adjusting as the game progresses. He looks for openings that increases his advantage but he might not know exactly how he will win the game until the opportunity for a checkmate presents itself.
