also GRRM is going to put out 2 books that are essentially long enough for 6 more seasons.

I needed a good laugh today.

I'm pretty sure that's been George's plan the whole time. The first chapter of the first book is a Bran chapter, so I've always expected it to end with him.

People always say this. The first chapter thing never meant anything to me. I mean the story had to start somewhere and his story just sparked it/was the first shock value plot point. Nobody ever cares whether the first chapter of the took ties into the most important story line. And there was a forward anyway.

He's basically omniscient, so if they don't make him king, he'll just be the all-knowing seer of the Stark family. I don't think anyone would want to live in a kingdom where one family knows everything about everyone. The best they can do is make him king and surround him with people from different families to have any influence whatsoever.

I mean he had already given up the Stark name. He didn't want to be a Stark, much less the king.

The ending actually makes sense if you think about it.

No Not at all. Maybe if you've never read the books and only watch season 8 of the show. Nothing at all lead up to that being a good conclusion/decision and disregarded any prophecy. I have a very hard time believing that the same person who wrote the red wedding and hold the door wrote Bran sitting on the throne with that ending. You just can't go from that good of writing to that bad of writing. It makes no sense and he was waaaaaaay down the line on people who should have sat on the throne. At least as far as making for a good story and ending.

Okay, that's you. Not everyone has to agree with you.

But if he's not king, he would live in Winterfell and be their omniscient seer..

Yeah, it does. Not the whole ending, mind you, but Bran on the throne in some other circumstance with a better story would be fine.

prophecy
That was botched but has nothing to do with who is king at the end. AA is prophesied to kill the night king, but he's not said to become king after that.
