Reviews say this is a must watch if you prefer this genre of gang/mob shows. I’m in season 1 episode 6, but keep waiting for it to pick up. Does it? Is it just a slow burn all the way through? Was hoping for something a little more fast paced like Gangs of London or Ganglands.

I somewhat like it so far, but haven’t decided whether to stick with it or not.

I originally watched Suburra: Blood On Rome despite the average IMDB ratings and loved it. After watching that I jumped right into Gomorrah knowing that it was supposed to be similar and a lot better reviewed/received, but like you I stopped part of the way in because it wasn't picking up. I think I made it to at least the beginning of season 2 but just wasn't as drawn in. It was definitely not as fast paced as Suburra but I haven't seen the two shows you mentioned to be able to compare.

What are you talking about? The first episode had a ton of action/violence. Ciro is awesome and so is the series. One of the better crime series out there.

I understand it gets right into it but after that, the prison episodes and family accountant just drag a bit. There is reason for story development, but the slow burn build up feels like it’s going somewhere, but doesn’t. Maybe I just need to be more patient for later seasons?

Just a song of Gomorrah, I wonder what they did there
Must've been a bad thing to get shot down for
I wonder how they blew it up or if they burned it down
Get out, get out Mr. Lot and don't you turn around.

I watched this and enjoyed it also, and meant to get around to Gomorrah but never did. Aren’t they related?

ETA: it was actually a prequel to the 2015 film Suburra.

Just finished. It’s definitely a slow burn, but I’m glad I stuck through it. Storyline is a little predictable but the camera work and intensity of characters make up for it.

I thought it was great for a number of seasons then around season 6 or so I just wasn't interested. I think there was a break in watching for me and I either just didn't feel like picking it back up or I started and didn't finish it.

But it was a must watch for me for a while.
