Hey... Godzilla plays baseball with Zilla... it was worth it for that along.
Yes, I do love that Toho bought the rights to that monster just to make him easy fodder for the true Godzilla.
They also made a joke about GINO (Zilla) in “GMK” as well.

Why have there been so many Godzilla movies made?
Every Godzilla Movie (In Order) 0n IMDb
Does the US get the newer Japanese ones in theaters?

Trailer shows godzilla stepping on a t-rex skeleton.
movie godzilla is basically a t-rex.

i just rewatched the full trailer on youtube. even knowing that the movie sucked, i still got major late 90s nostalgia from the style/vibe and cinematography of the trailer. that was a fun era.

Because it’s awesome.

Not all the time, and not always in wide release.

As others said, it was a monster movie not a Godzilla movie.
The old man on the pier was pretty funny though....

I had a watch from Burger King.

saw the trailer prior to lost world:jurassic park.
it was kind of in the early days of of the big "grande" type cinemas. I remember thinking, "i can't wait to see a godzilla movie on his screen with this sound system".

. acting was bad.
That lead actress was one of the worst actresses I have ever seen. Not to mention I have never heard of her. She put the shine on this dog turd for sure.

She was Chandler and Monica's adoption agent on episode of Friends. And slept with Joey. That's all I got.
I don't think that qualifies as... interesting enough to go add to the same actress thread.

I mean... the one from 1998 is just Jurassic Park supersized. And not even supersized enough to be Godzilla.

exactly. 1998 godzilla was hiding behind buildings. 2014 godzilla was stepping on them.

If I remember correctly, the creature designer based his Godzilla off his pet iguana.

I love the GZ size charts

I saw it on opening night with my little brother, and for the life of me, I remember absolutely NOTHING about this film. It was that unremarkable.
The traffic guy at 99X here in Atlanta was such a Godzilla fanboy that he got this giant-arse tattoo of the version from the production images that were released ahead of the film. Took up his entire upper arm, IIRC. What a douche. He deserves to be saddled with something like this that's as much of an abject failure as he is.

I liked it. It was the most realistic Godzilla up to that point. Instead of lumbering at 5 mph, this one could haul it and swam more realistically. It wasn't an actor in a suit.
