Did Jay-Z write the soundtrack for any of the Godfather's?

I didn't think so...

1 for me and by a good bit. #2's dark as frick cinematography is so dark in places that it's distracting. What exactly Fredo did to betray Michael is also never explained, and it grates my nerves.

Love the epic in chrono order though.

The book is great but I would have been ok with fewer pages about Sonny's massive dong.

I literally watched these 2 the last 2 nights and I'm going with part 1.

As with all art, it's really a matter of perception. Were you reading 70 pages about Sonny's dong, or 70 pages about Lucy's massive gaping wizard sleeve?

I feel the linear narrative makes #1 a more engrossing and enjoyable film.

The reason that section of the book exists is b/c Puzo was determined to create a bestseller, and he was convinced a bestseller had to have a female interest. So he wrote about Lucy Mancini and her hooha (and her gynecologist -- don't forget he's a major figure in the novel), rather than give the perspectives/backstories of Connie and/or Kay.

IIRC he plays on Van Morrison's Astral Weeks

Great movies. American classics.

Both one and two were excellent.

It's a damn shame that 3 was disappointing.

Tough call but I'd say 2. If anyone hasn't gotten a chance to see the re-cut Godfather Epic you should. IMO it's the ultimate version of Godfather 1 & 2.

Godfather 1. It isn't even close really.

The scene where Michael goes to visit his father at the hospital and no one is guarding his father. my favorite scene. Shows how aware and smart Michael is.

The specific information or access that he gave Hyman Roth's people isn't explicitly said. Did he actually let the hit men in the gate? Or was it something less competent and he was just used? Seems like I have seen some discussion about this before.

I love the Godfather II, but the Godfather is the superior film, just about perfect start to finish.
