So… it’s a little complicated. I may seem a little bit evasive here, and I don’t mean to. It’s not entirely certain whether I am or am not. I might be. I might be, but I might not be. That really is the truth.

Howerton has signed to do an NBC comedy pilot with Patton Oswalt. These things are usually verboten to discuss before they become official, and as the Variety report suggests, this would be a slightly different situation than Kaitlin Olson pulling double duty with Sunny and The Mick, since FX and Fox are corporate siblings (and thus more amenable to share their stars than NBC would be if it had Howerton on a series regular contract), and since Howerton is a writer and executive producer on Sunny, while Olson just acts. So it sounds like his availability for future seasons will depend on whether the NBC pilot goes to series, and/or whether Sunny season 13 is delayed long enough to create a hole in Howerton’s schedule that lets him do both.)

frick NBC. If you love Always Sunny, avoiding the NBC pilot (or watching it illegally) would be the best bet.

I mean, most series don't last anywhere close to It's Always Sunny, and maybe Glenn just wants to do something else. Maybe they are all wanting the show to wind down and this is an option for Glenn to continue his career on another potential big show. I'm not a big fan of Patton, so I doubt this will be very good.

I mean Dennis does have a double life. Why not just do both?

Does anyone really feel like Always Sunny has a lot left in the tank?

The show stopped being funny around season 6. The Mick is much better outside of the liberal teen on the show.

How is he able to do a show on NBC and ABC but not Glenn?

They turned into cartoon characters similar to Seinfeld in the last season after Larry David left.

I don't know if I've ever seen a worse opinion on anything.

I'm not seeing how him and Oswald can even be on the same show with their differing styles. Patton annoys the shite out of me

That said, I would rather Always Sunny end on a good note instead of drawing on for several seasons when it's clear everyone's there for a check

I actually agree, regarding the show taking a downturn around season 6 or so. I almost stopped watching because the storylines were bizarre for the sake of being bizarre and not very funny. The show has been back to form since season 9 though, which is not what I was expecting.

Season 7 is my favorite, so I can't say that I agree:

Frank's Pretty Women
The Gang Goes to Jersey Shore
Frank Reynolds Little Beauties
Sweet Dee gets Audited
The Anti-Social Network

All great episodes IMO.
