2 co-workers search out a secret, lost treasure for their boss. they run into a bumpy road along the way, clean up their mess, and end up parting ways after unexpectingly having to protect the treasure. they deliver the treasure but their boss is now concerned with the insubordination of another employee, with a twist at the end of who ends up on the chopping block

I would say Office Space, but Peter definitely did commit a crime...he just ended up not getting caught.
