i did boys state back in the 90s.

i'm ok with female empowerment, but the "women will save America!" line lost me entirely.

Did so in 1981. Girls and Boys State were held at the same time at LSU. We had a joint dance one night near the end.

43 years later, as far as I know, NO ONE and I mean NO ONE involved in either group went into politics, and no one at the time had such ridiculous notions about "saving the world". It was just about the honor of being chosen and involved, and another thing to list on your college application.

It was a cool and fun experience, though.
