NEW YORK (AP) — George R.R. Martin is joining the adult coloring book game. Bantam announced Monday that Martin will be overseeing the release of the "Game of Thrones Coloring Book," featuring 45 new black and white illustrations by leading fantasy illustrators that are inspired by his "A Song of Ice and Fire" novels. The book is scheduled for release this fall and represents another interim project from Martin as his millions of fans await the next installment of his series. Last year, Martin collaborated on "The World of Ice and Fire: The Untold History of Westeros and the Game of Thrones," an illustrated guide. Adult coloring books have been one of this year's hottest genres, led by Johanna Basford's "Enchanted Forest" and "Secret Garden."

Well, I'm glad he took time out of his busy schedule to oversee a freaking coloring book.

If it took that much time to oversee a coloring book, then we have bigger problems.

I'm all about some adult coloring books though. Don't judge me.

My issue isn't that I think overseeing a coloring book will take up much time, it's that all the fat bastard needs is another excuse not to finish the damn book.

A) I didn't even know "adult" coloring books existed.
And B) How you doing?

Well, it's probably a lot more productive than candy crush. I've never seen one of these adult coloring books but I'm a little intrigued.

I've already given up on this notion. I'm apathetic. Maybe then I'll be really surprised if it happens in the next few years.

Yeah. They've gotten pretty big here recently. That Secret Garden book they've mentioned has been out of stock for an eternity on Amazon it's gotten so big. You can find some good ones for cheap though. I've always used coloring in my group sessions with kids (especially anger management kids) and it's nice not to have to color Batman and something "adult" for once. I've also heard of therapist recommending them for stress management. It's literally just one of a million things to do to take your mind off shite. There's some people that are pretty damn serious about it, spend a ton of money on "special" art colored pencils, etc. I just roll with a box of Crayolas.

Just peachy.

I want to send that fat old bastard a parcel of Bolivian nose candy to get the goddamn books finished but I'm afraid he'd keel over.

I looked that book up, and you & I have a vastly different definition of what the word "adult" means.

His tombstone ought to read

Here lies GRRM:
Decent writer
Masterful procrastinator
GOAT troll

And then as one last frick you to his fans he is buried with his finished manuscripts of Winds of Winter and Dream of Summer without telling anybody they were completed
