The GreatJon may be a badass, but he doesn't hold a candle to Tormund Giantsbane, the Mead-King of Ruddy Hall, Tall-Talker, Horn-Blower, Breaker of Ice, Thunderfist, Husband to Bears, Speaker to Gods.

Meh, Robb was worthless.

Maybe so, but Grey Wind was bad arse. He didn't deserve to go out like that.

This is the most memorable moment in the entire series so far

Drogo's funeral pyre was pretty badass. All three trials by combat rank pretty high to me as well.

I agree, but the RW still stands out by far to me.

I'm don't remember 3. There were two fought for Tyrion. What was the other?

ETA: Now I remember. The Hound in the cave with the Brotherhood right?

I am kind of keeping my hopes low for the RW. It was such an amazing read for me that I don't think anything will really do it's justice.

The Red Viper vs. the Mountain was one of the most exciting moments I have ever read. An unreal amount of hate for the Mountain, support of the Viper's cause as well as the fact that he was fricking awesome, and how much I like Tyrion had me invested in that fight like no other.

It's amazing how angry this series has made me, yet I do constant rereads, spend countless hours discussing it, and am like a spoiled rich kid waiting for Christmas until Winter comes out.

Thus, his tragic demise at the Red Wedding was so much more epic.

March 31st. I started my ASOS reread last week. Hopefully I have time to finish it up.

I knew the Red Wedding was coming due to it being spoiled, but this I thought for sure the Viper must win in order for Tyrion to live and escape, where he'd then go to Dorne and plot with Oberyn on how to take over the Seven Kingdoms. That was the only chapter where I have ever screamed at the pages I was reading. I don't think the series can live up to it. Why the hell haven't they cast The Red Viper yet? He was definitely one of my favorite characters.

Purefoy would be perfect but he said he won't do Game of Thrones.

And for only being in a few chapters, the Red Viper is one of my favorite characters in the book. My jimmies were rustled after that fight.

I thought he said he was interested but too busy? Which would make Prince Oberyn's brief story arc the perfect fit. And we all know how HBO loves to recycle the talent.

I hope they recast the Mountain. A tall goofy dude is not the Mountain.

I agree, but it probably won't happen since they've recasted him once already. The first Gregor was perfect imo.
Sandor was casted beautifully.

I've read the Red Wedding chapter three times since I started the series, and I am still confused at why Cat thought something was strange all of a sudden when one of the Mormont women got spurned by a Frey. From what I remember, the Mormont ladies weren't exactly attractive. Being denied seems not all that unreasonable. There were plenty of things to pick up on that were amiss at the wedding, but I found it odd that this event is what made Cat seem leery.

It was the way he spurned her. Dude was like, "BITCH GET UP OFF ME!!!!". That plus everything else just put her suspicions over the edge.

Don't. His current show The Following is probably going to keep him tied up for awhile.
