Still one of the funniest movies of the past 20 years.

RIP Alan Rickman.

Love this movie.

First time I saw it, I was expecting garbage. Boy was I wrong.

Probably the best Sigourney ever looked too.

He should have been nominated for Galaxy Quest and won for Moon.

There. I said it.

He has one of the best lines in the movie, in my opinion.

When Tim Allen is fighting the rock monster:

quote:

Jason Nesmith: It's a rock! It doesn't have any vulnerable spots!

Guy Fleegman: I know! You construct a weapon. Look around, can you form some sort of rudimentary lathe?

Has always cracked me up.

The movie intentionally drifted into the range of silly - it was interesting to see guys like Allen, Rickman and Weaver in such a product. However, for my money, Shaloub, Colotani (Mathesar) and, particularly, Rockwell stole the movie.

In 2013 attendees at a Star trek convention voted on ranking the Star Trek movies. At the time there were 12 Star trek movies. Galaxy Quest was voted number 7. Pretty high praise from a group of people notoriously protective of the franchise.

For some of you younger baws, (so-called) Star Trek: Into Lameness was ranked 12th.

They hadn't seen Beyond Stupid yet.

That had the terrible 2009 film way too high, but otherwise, I agree with you.

Clearly you've never seen any of the Alien movies.

"HEY! Don't open that! It's an alien planet! Is there air? You don't know!"

not really. I think she is super butch and unattractive in all of the alien movies. You like your chicks bald? And I mean up top.

In fact in all of my years on TD, i've never seen Sigourney Weaver mentioned in a hot actress thread, not even a Hot Chicks of Sci-Fi.

Her repeating everything the computer said (that everyone already heard) was classic.

My parents had a “cheater” box back then. I am not into the sci-fi genre, but I seen it playing on ppv so I decided to give it a try. I ended up watching it several times that week. I was pleasantly surprised. Really liked it. And Weaver was pretty smoking in it too.

You probably don't remember me, do you? It's the sunglasses, right? I was on the show in '82. Episode 81. I was Crewman Number Six. I got killed by a lava monster before the first commercial.
