So where does that leave the novel? "I am months away still... and that's if the writing goes well ... I am not going to set another deadline for myself to trip over. The deadlines just stress me out." He adds, with finality, "It will be done when it's done

No one saw this coming.

George, you are entitled to live your life as you see fit, but maybe...maybe...you could have cut back on the conventions and public appearances for the last couple of years.

He will never finish the series and may not finish WoW.

Its already completed.

He's just trying to out-troll Kirkman.

You know what that fatty should've done? He should've waited until after he finished the series to write all that side shite he keeps pumping out.

This is really disappointing

It's definitely true. Some threads are behind and some are ahead. And there is a scene coming up in season 6 book readers have been waiting on since season 1. It was filmed. It's coming.

Well, remember the book will count over the series. Maybe he would see how popular the GoT ending is and tell them "frick you" and end his badly.

Or he might write Jon and Arya together after all.

I first started reading George R.R. Martin way back in the day when he came out with the Wild Cards series, though I think a lot of the heavy lifting was done by Melinda Snodgrass.

It was thrilling, new, and amazing! A new take on super heroes. Oh, and there were the usual wholesale rapes going on. It is his thing after all.

Yes, they set up an amazing world and were building to a great conclusion... that sort of petered out. You see Martin is a good writer, and he is, but he's piss poor at finishing a story.

He will probably get help finishing GoT. More and more it sounds like he really wished he'd already finished the series. He had a good idea but carrying it across the finish line is not his thing.
