Funny/Deadpan comedy moments in the Star Wars Prequels

We all know that Episodes IV, V, VI had plenty of humorous lines. For example:

Leia: "Get this walking carpet out of my way" (IV)

Han: "Who's scruffy lookin?" (V)

Han: "I love you"
Leia: "I know." (VI)

Leia: "I'd rather kiss a Wookie."
Han: " I can arrange that!" (V)

These may not be the height of comedy, but the were a bit of comic relief. Lightening up the situation, so to speak. Episodes IV through VII were littered with one-off quips like these.

I can think of only one, maybe two instances of that in the prequels. The obvious one is in the bar in Episode II.

Patron: "You wanna buy some death sticks?"
Obi-Wan: "You don't want to sell me death sticks..." etc.

And maybe the scene in Episode I where Qui-Gon grabs Jar Jar's tongue as he's trying to get some food and says," Don't do that again".

I'm not talking about the "physical" comedy of Jar Jar. That was just plain stupid.


Am I missing something in that there were absolutely NO funny one liners, humorous observations (What about the food on those Nubians? ), etc.?

One of the reasons the prequels are so shat upon. Dead Heath Ledger has a question for the prequels.
