Fox's Lucifer

Came to my attention today that the pilot episode for Lucifer made it way onto the internet last month. Gave it a download (its up on the usual torrent sites) and was pleasantly surprised.

First though you need to forget that its based on a really good comic and view it as its own thing. It's a police procedural with a hot chick and a cheeky rogue, its not anything original but I think its gonna be a fun way to kill an hour every week. Lucifer is a compelling character and you can sympathize with him, but at the same time you get glimpses of what he really is. It lays the foundation of the overarching mythology in an intriguing way and asks the question "is Lucifer the Devil because he's the embodiment of evil, or because God wills it". I get the feeling that free will will be a big theme.

Breaking Bad it aint, but I think it'll eventually be a nice blend of Castle and Supernatural. Not must watch TV but DVR worthy.
