I read somewhere that this movie got some last minute changes. Supposedly it was very heavy on the Clinton's involvement. All of the Clinton stuff was scrubbed from the movie.

You would think that as long as this thing has been in production, since Hillary lost the election, they've been busy putting the Clinton stuff back in.

He was staying at the halfway house at the salvation army and just returned "home" for the night when he was ambushed sitting in his caddy, parked out front of the place.I remember the news reports when it happened, was a scary thing.

Here's an article I ran across. I didn't realize some of the family fought this movie in 2015. The alleged inaccuracies are interesting.

I recently read a book about Barry Seal called Smuggler's End, written by Del Hahn. He was an FBI agent on the Drug Task Force in BR. He claims that most of the stories about Seal were greatly exaggerated or complete BS. Among other things, Hahn says there's no evidence that Seal was ever involved in the CIA. He also says that Seal only piloted a relatively few smuggling trips, about ten. Seal had an employee/partner who flew 25 or 30. Hahn claims Seal mainly coordinated the logistics, rather than flying the missions himself.

He said it was difficult to surveil Seal's activities because his home was on a dead end or cul-de-sac with only a few houses. Seal never used his home phone for business and travelled with a sack of quarters. The FBI eventually identified 10 or 12 pay phones that Seal frequently used and tapped them.

It's an interesting book with an atypical viewpoint. He portrays Seal as kind of a frickup, rather than a criminal mastermind.

Part of that opinion was justified by the fact that Seal got busted 3 times and had issues on another trip or two, out of 8 or 10 trips he piloted. Not exactly a great success rate.
