I watch this show too. The only bad thing I've noticed since I started watching this show back in 2007 is that criminals are increasingly lawyering up without saying a word. I think they have learned from this show and others on how to deal with the police.

They stopped filming in NO over a year ago so probably don't have much left. I remember the producer of the show said it was the toughest place they have filmed in terms of people helping the detectives solve the cases.

I knew one of the lead homicide detectives when they were still filming in Birmingham. Chris Anderson. Cool guy. He just got a new show on Investigation Discovery called "Reasonable Doubt" LINK. Haven't seen it, but it'll be difficult to live up to a show as great as First 48.
