I have been holding off on commenting on this movie because I know I will probably get lambasted for it but I really don't give a crap. This is actually a pretty good movie. If you are not familiar with it it is a Christian movie about a marriage falling apart. The acting is pretty bad in parts although Kirk Cameron actually does a pretty good job in the lead role. My mother in law had our kids and I wasn't wanting to use a rare night at the movies for a low budget Christian film. However I have got to say I enjoyed it more than I probably would have enjoyed anything out right now. If you are a believer and are married I would highly recommend you get a baby sitter and go watch it. One impressive thing is the the budget was half a million and it has already made over ten million in it's first two weekends on a little over 800 screens. Not a bad effort. At least it wasn't a crazy end times movie that seems to make up %90 of Christian films. Seriously, go see it.

I saw it last weekend. The church I attend made it a date night event at the local theater. I have to say I really enjoyed it. Some parts of it really hit home for me as my marriage was in a similar situation. I was in a cold sweat the first 10 minutes or so because I was missing the Tigers/MSU game on ESPN 2, but sacrifices have to be made...good thing we weren't playing Florida or Georgia.

I went into it expecting not to like it. I was pleasantly surprised! The movie is actually good. Every now and then, the acting got a little shaky, but not too bad. Anyone married or thinking of getting married should check it out. It's rare when a movie can actually make a real difference in someone's life, and "Fireproof" will help some people and marriages out there.
