7) Namond isn't like Wee-Bey and would have never been cut out as a dealer. He is also too weak. Glad at least Colvin stepped up and decided to let Nomand live with him. It's for the best. Also the mom is a jackass.

Namond is arguably the worst character on the show. I hated him so much.

9) Poor Bodie. I respect him for not going down without a fight. Yes he's a dealer, but he's a respectable dude.

And Bodie Broadus is one of the best.

Coming down the home stretch and forgot how funny the serial killer's FBI profile is...awesome.

Cheese’s character was supposed to be annoying and obnoxious, Marlo was a straight G. The only time I felt like Marlo acted like a punk was him blatantly stealing in front of that guard. Almost everything else was just business and the game.

second page and no mention of Bunk?

Just a humble mother fricker with a big arse dick.

The scene with him trying to burn his clothes in the bathtub was OUTSTANDING.

I have tried watching this at least 5 times over the years and I just can’t get into it for some reason :( I hear it’s amazing

You aren't alone. I think I made it through Season 1, can't remember. I guess if you like watching the dregs of society being dregs of society, then this show is for you.

I might try to watch it again, but I remember not liking it whatsoever.

Wendell Pierce's acting IMO was the best in the series, especially in season 5.

I guess if you don’t like character development adult drama focused on institutions and the effect they have in people and dialogue that doesn’t just advance the plot but is how people actually talk then it’s not for you.

I just did my first full viewing this year. I was like you in that I tried twice before; the first time I quit after season 1 and the seonc time quit after season 2. I originally kept quitting becuase it was so dreadfully SLOW and boring. It had been about 10 years since my last attempt but this recnet go around I was far more entranced by it. I'm guessing just getting older and having different tastes may have altered my opinion. This time, seeing the everyday minutiae of how the police go about their jobs while seeing the criminals attempt to stay one step ahead was fascinating to me. I'm not saying "try it again, you'll love it!" but I do think going in with the right mindset was helpful. I didn't go in expecting fast pace or constant action, I went in with the perspective of watching how REAL LIFE shite goes down and how things are all interconnected together and that helped my enjoyment immensely.

Just finished my 5th watch.

What people don't realize about The Wire is you need to treat it like a movie...turn your phones off and pay attention. Even on my 5th watch I stay off my phone.

Each watch you pick up on something new you didn’t notice the last time. Both of my brother's have tried and didn’t like it. Their loss...you just have to give it time.

Maybe but I don’t think someone that says it’s boring is interested in paying close attention. They want the plot simple and explained to them, they want action” fights, car chases, explosions, 2 dimensional good or bad guys.

I think this is my favorite quote from a show full of great ones.

Do the chair know we gonna look like some punk arse bitches out there?
-Poot

String’s reaction is priceless.
