I love JM. Sure, it's chick flicky at times, but who cares...it's pretty entertaining throughout the movie, and Jonathan Lipnicki was still a cute kid instead of some weird looking alien adult.

Jay Mohr is awesome in it. Cruise is awesome in it (I remember thinking he'd get the Oscar that year). Gooding was okay in it, but obviously others thought he was great. Some decent football scenes, some cool sort of background/behind-the-scenes things about how professional sports work. Etc. Tons of great quotes too.

You shoplifted the pootie.

My wife bought a t-shirt in the bookstore a couple of years ago that said "you had me at Geaux Tigers"!

I don't consider it a chic flick per se. While it obviously had a chic element it also had a lot of other stuff going on.

One of my favorites... It was hilarious when Cruise went over to that girls house piss-drunk & the kid kept wanting to go to the zoo. Ha.

Especially since it had some good game footage , actual NFL announcers plus the real teams.
Man, I saw JM again about a year ago, and the NFL players they featured really dates the movie. Herman Moore and Wayne Fontes were in it, as was Drew Bledsoe and Warren Moon. Felt like I was watching a 1994 NFL films feature. I realize the movie came out in the mid-90s, but damn, you haven't heard from some of these people in forever. I forgot Herman Moore even existed, and we went to the same college where he was maybe the best player ever and was prominently featured in the athletic complex.

You're lying. No way in hell you walked out on JM. The movie is pretty good.

Hated the movie. They sucked me in with the spots angle only to find out half way through that it was nothing more than a cliche ridden, run of the mill chic flick.

As soon as "you had me at hello" left that girls mouth, I stood up and walked out.
