Why is their such a blatant difference in the way the characters deal with the apocalypse. FWD characters are all dumb as shite. They don't care for their own well being. They have dumb winey arse teenagers. It is like they are trying to die but get lucky instead of trying to survive. Is it because they are from California making them dumb arse liberals vs the Georgia boys in WD?

It's just starting. It's new, Rick catches up long after its accepted to walk up to walkers and shoot.

Not everyone in the south survived the initial shite hitting.

This.

But I kind of like the difference, as much as I'm like what the frick with what they do it makes for some good WTF moments. And we as TWD fans take a different approach after 5 seasons of how to handle the Zombie Apocalypse.

There isn't a single likable main character on this show. I hope they all die

I couldn't make it past episode 3 of season one of FTWD. I heard the season finale was pretty good, but I never could bring myself to go back and watch it. Was the season 2 opener any good?

It was a steaming pile of dog shite for 58 minutes, followed by 2 minutes of intrigue at the end. Enough to make my dumb arse watch one more episode.

The only two characters I like are Nick and Victor. The actors who portray them do a really good job. I like Reuben Blades as an actor and I liked Kim Dickens on SOA. The two that I'd like to see killed off would be the dad and his son. I think they could have did without Travis because everyone is going to try and compare him to Rick Grimes since they are both the male leads. Unfair to him, so they need to just kill him off for the shows sake.
I do like the fact that we have no comic book to let us know what's down the road for the characters or the story. It's all fresh.

So FTWD is just like WD?

Both are terrible shows, but I watch hoping it will get better.

Season 2 ep1 was brutal. TWD was thought out so much better. There are so many moments on FTWD where your like wtf? Zombies show up from no where to cheap horror lets make the dumbest choice immaginable cast. Not sure wtf is going on here. Do they even review the episodes before putting them out there?

I like the sneaky scubba steve zombie that just pops up as they are trying to get to the boat. Lol i mean really? So the zombie rather than go directly for them on the beach decides to go around them and sneak into the water. Then picks the perfect spot where the raft stops and waits for his opportune moment to strike from below. It was so cheezy. I could go on. There must have been a dozen moments like this in last nights episode.

Exactly, it's a totally different timeline than the original. Also, gun-happy southerners versus California liberals.

They quickly and uneventfully skip over the firebombing of Los Angeles to give you 45 minutes of boring dialogue on a boat.

In FTWD, there was no apocalypse for most of season one. They thought people were sick, and justifiably feared legal repercussions for killing someone. You can't expect the characters to go from suburbia to mad max in one season.

My biggest gripe. Those things were what I would imagine the majority of people watching were excited about, and they just threw away the opportunity.

I agree the episode wasn't very good, but they left off the last season with them on the beach preparing to go out to the boat. This one started right where it left off, with the group heading toward the boat.

I didn't expect we would see much of LA this episode at all.

Did we think they were going to go back in to the city?

I still have some hope for Daniel (Ruben Blades) as a character. All in all though, I find myself rooting for the pirates.

To WD fans this show represents lost opportunity. Most of us feel we could have written an outline for a show that would be better than this. Certainly not one where the dead are smarter than the living.

Travis is a horrible lead and his son Chris sucks beyond belief! Somebody pm me when he gets eaten.

I've been under the impression that Madison was the true lead. Last season she certainly was. I think she'll turn out to be the Rick of this group.

Travis is Lori.
