Watched the reboot/remake last night and was presently surprised. I haven't watched any of the originals but hear they get slap sticky. Will I disappointed watching them now? Are they terribly dated?

Should have watched the originals first. You aren't going to get it now. #generationgapsruineverything

They are dated, but still good watches imo.
Evil Dead 2 and Army of Darkness are much more campy than Evil Dead, but they are aware.

They're awesome. The first one is a classic 80's horror movie. The special effects are pretty dated and cheap even for their time, but it's still worth watching imo for some of the ideas and set ups they use. Very fun I think.
The second and third ones are pretty slap sticky. It might not be your cup of tea, but I think that they are the real jewels of the series. If you like B movies then they purposely embellish a lot of the things that people like about B movies. Things like over the top cheesy one liners, plot holes, and obvious inconsistencies. The one liners in particular are pretty clever and tend to stand out.
I've heard that the new Evil Dead movies are going to be following the same structure as the original. I'm very excited.

I agree but watching it was spur of the moment since I was searching stars on demand for a horror movie last night.

Evil Dead 2 holds up great as a dark comedy.
